Plant trees. Reduce climate change.

Verification

Verification and Traceability are critical components to viable carbon exchange. All of our planted parcels are tracked and recorded by GPS, and are open to the public via Google Earth to ensure maximum transparency.

We understand the importance of verification standards for our carbon offset projects. We aim for the highest standard whenever possible, and maintain the goal of keeping the whole picture in mind to accomplish successful and long-lasting reforestation projects.

PURE PLANET’s projects currently have, or are in the process of achieving, the following validation:

Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) validation for registration at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate (UNFCCC)

or

Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS) validation

or

SGS Certification of planted trees. This applies for smaller projects or for reforested areas that are non-eligible for CDM and VCS validation due to their size and/or other technical limitations. The SGS Climate Change Programme offers a range of services for mandatory and voluntary reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: In the EU Emission Trading Scheme (ETS), Joint Implementation (JI) or Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects as well as voluntary or state-based initiatives.
