ALTER ECO is bringing fair trade and organic goods from cooperatives in 30 countries to grocery stores around the world while making a dent in global poverty. ALTER ECO offsets their enterprise and products, and currently labels several products with our Objective Carbon Zero label, making their products some of the first to boast a carbon neutral label.
Sicirec is a forestry consultant specialized in tropical hardwood. Sicirec has a solid track record of working in community forestry projects throughout Latin America, and is the authorized host party for our two CDM certified reforestation projects in Bolivia. Currently, Sicirec is partnered with PURE PLANET to closely manage our reforestation project with 1,500 smallholders in Bolivia, which has received certification as a Kyoto Clean Development Mechanism and The Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Alliance Gold rating. ArBolivia works to promote reforestation activities in different parts of the country with the dual purpose of carbon sequestration and timber production, managing Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects throughout Bolivia.
Billion Tree Campaign. Under their Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign, the United Nations Environment Programme is encouraging people, communities, organizations, business and industry, civil society and governments to planting 7 billion trees by the end of 2009 with the overall objective to plant at least one billion trees worldwide each year. All of the trees planted by PURE PLANET are being recorded in the Billion Tree Campaign registry.
Pur Projet, based in France, was founded by Tristan Lecomte, also founder of Alter Eco and author of numerous books and articles on sustainability. Pur Projet offers the full spectrum of carbon management and offset services in collaboration with their fair trade partners throughout the world.
TckTckTck is a campaign conceived of by Kofi Annan’s Global Humanitarian Forum to bring broad public awareness to the UN negotiations on a post-Kyoto Protocol agreement; taking place in Copenhagen in December 2009. PURE PLANET was brought in to offset the carbon footprint of the entire campaign by planting trees through our reforestation projects. PURE PLANET will also be offering visitors to both tcktcktck.org and timeforclimatejustice.org the opportunity to participate in Objective Carbon Zero.
Treevestors develops, promotes and manages emerging market forest-based enterprises with the help of commercial, financial, non-profit and multilateral partners including leading participants in forestry, conservation, biodiversity protection, carbon markets and microfinance. TreeVestors’ main focus is to bring financial investors through the trading of carbon offsets, the harvest of environmentally certified timber, microloans and the monetization of current and developing non-Timber Forestry Products.
PureProject is a project that uses creativity and innovation to promote sustainable solutions that advance a common good in the world. Above all, there is a ‘pure’ intention at the core of the project to advance some common good in the world.
